QUICKSAND
QUICKSAND
Hand-painted in 2021 on Procreate, “Quicksand” is a piece from Ugonna Ikechi’s third solo exhibition In Translation. This painting is inspired by the 2015 song of the same name by Esquire. The Artist uses a minimal, earthy colour palette as a reference to the title, which works to evoke the psychological weight & strain of slowly sinking into metaphorical quicksand, without an apparent way out.
