 IN TRANSLATION

I perceive and analyze different art forms via similar spectrums. To me, they all speak a common language, which is what I intend to translate in this exhibition. In essence, this body of work aims to examine the interaction of various disciplines of art by producing visual interpretations of specific pieces of art which I’ve grown an affinity for. The art forms in focus are largely non-visual, ranging from music and poetry to film and nature, amongst others.

Drawing on my personal perspective of viewing my art in a similar language as music, IN TRANSLATION is created and curated with the intention of being presented in a body of work similar to an album. Hence, there exists a chronology in theme, content, aesthetic and general narrative.

I’ve experimented with visual translations in the past andIi felt the urge to explore the concept in more depth, in order to highlight the interconnection of art as a wholesome entity. Also, I’ve undergone extensive research regarding the relationship between our senses (ex: synesthesia) in order to achieve the most accurate representations as possible. IN TRANSLATION serves as an analysis as well as a celebration of art in its various frameworks.
