Fugar is a Toronto-based Media Production Company. The goal here was to create a logotype that represents the hands-on nature of the industry. I decided to go with a solid effect, using all uppercase text and a concrete texture. The client and I agree that this treatment portrays an aura of reliability.
Blinc is a conceptual product I worked on in a University Marketing course. It was a group project, in which myself & other members conducted research in relation to environmental, competitor & consumer analyses. My goal was to create a sophisticated & inclusive logotype that showcases the brand’s focus.
House 564 Entertainment is a sport-centered media outlet. For this logotype, I examined the visual identities of a variety of sporting institutions in order to speak directly to the visual language of athleticism. I wanted this to be a strong & dynamic image, so I utilized negative space as well as two primary colors to give it some character.
Gold Envisions is a Toronto-based event planning firm. The Clients requested a logotype that evokes elegance. I decided to go with different typefaces to add an element of dynamism. My choice of colors speak to the notions of luxury & royalty. The word “gold” is written in purple to avoid being cliche. I also used additional textures to add a sense of tactility.
Illustration & Design for the Letters to Her EP by U.K-based recording artiste Lady Donli. The direction here was to evoke the raw & vulnerable emotions that are interwoven all through the EP. I decided to represent the artiste in a triple line drawing to depict the various perspectives from which she speaks. The paper effect compliments the handwritten typeface of the title, which work together to portray a feeling of intimacy.
Illustration & Design for New Jerusalem LP by Toronto-based recording artiste Legacy. This album has biblical themes, in relation to Prophet Ezekiel's vision of a city centered on the rebuilt Holy Temple in Jerusalem (the capital of the Messianic Kingdom). This is what informed my interpretation of the project. The artiste is illustrated in ancient Jewish attire and a halo to connect to the theme. There is a regal aesthetic embedded in the design, evident in the “New Jerusalem” logotype, the colour scheme & typeface.
Illustration & Design for i. FLI EP by Toronto-based poet Dante Gamst. This is the poet’s first ever offering supplemented by music, and it was my duty to depict the unpolished, & genuine thoughts being presented on the project. I illustrated a vintage car on the front cover because the EP captures the spirit of nighttime rides with the radio on, The overall design of the covers has a grunge aesthetic, per the poet’s requests, which I believe add to the underground nature of the EP’s release.
Illustration & Design for Babe, It’s Hot Outside EP by Toronto-based recording artiste Ojo. This nice & short summer-inspired EP is filled with warmth, which I represented in the background & color scheme. The artiste requested a worn appearance of the cover to create an appearance reminiscent of vintage vinyl sleeves. I used subtle overlays of tree leaves to speak to the tropical sonic landscape of the project. To top off the design, I used a slightly playful typeface to depict the easy-going & feel-good nature of the artiste & his work.
Designs (with elements of illustration & photography by me) for songs by various recording artistes in and outside Canada.
